Sanrio / Hello Kitty

Two theme parks: one indoor near Tokyo, one outdoor in Kyushu.

Hello Kitty is the commercial centre of a character stable that also includes Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody and Pompompurin, and Sanrio runs two theme parks in Japan. Puroland, in Tama in western Tokyo, is entirely indoors — which makes it the reliable option on a rainy day and in summer heat — and is built around live shows and parades rather than rides. Harmonyland in Oita is the outdoor counterpart, with rides and far smaller crowds. Puroland is about 40 minutes from Shinjuku.
