GeGeGe no Kitaro
178 bronze yokai along one 800-metre street, free, lit until 22:00.
Shigeru Mizuki grew up in **Sakaiminato**, a fishing port in Tottori, and the town turned the 800-metre street from the station to his memorial museum into **Mizuki Shigeru Road** — now lined with **178 bronze yokai statues**, plus a yokai shrine, themed shops and a station renamed after the characters. Walking the road is free and it is open at any hour, with the statues lit and yokai shadow-projections cast on the pavement from dusk until 22:00. It is the most complete example of a Japanese town rebuilding itself around a manga, and it predates most of the others by decades.
