Yuru Camp opens at **Kouan Campsite** on Lake Motosu in Yamanashi, and the view across the lake to Mount Fuji is the one printed on the back of the 1,000 yen note — photographed from the Nakanokura Pass viewpoint above the campsite. You can stand in both places. The campsite is a working campsite with **online-only booking that opens 60 days ahead**, and it fills up, so this is one of the few pilgrimages that needs planning rather than just turning up. If you are not camping, the lakeshore and the pass viewpoint are both accessible without booking anything.
