Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan
Around 500 capsule toy machines in one room, restocked constantly.
Capsule toys, or gachapon, are a Japanese format that barely exists overseas. This hall runs roughly 500 machines side by side, covering anime characters, food miniatures, animals and deliberately absurd novelty series.
Why it is worth it
It is the cheapest possible souvenir. A hundred yen produces something you genuinely cannot buy at home.

Series that run for only a few weeks before being replaced.
When to go
Never crowded enough to be a problem.
Good to know
Machines take 100-yen coins only. There is a change machine, but bring coins to save time.
