Sendai city and the series have run a long collaboration through the covered shopping arcades in the centre, with signage, panels and shop tie-ins under the name "Volley Road". It is a city initiative rather than a permanent installation, and the contents are refreshed and changed.
Why it is worth it
It is five minutes from the Shinkansen platform, so it costs nothing to look if you are passing through Sendai anyway.
When to go
Normal shopping street traffic.
Good to know
Because the installation changes, ask at the tourist information centre in Sendai Station for what is currently up rather than relying on older guides — including this one.
