The memorial museum for Takashi Yanase in the mountains of Kochi, where he grew up. He was personally involved in its creation, and it covers his poetry and illustration alongside Anpanman. It reopened after refurbishment in 2025.
Why it is worth it
There are Anpanman museums in five cities, but this is the one the author made, in the place he came from. It is also a genuinely beautiful valley.

Busy in school holidays.
Good to know
Advance booking through the official site is required — do not turn up without it. It is 25 minutes by bus from Tosa-Yamada, and services are infrequent, so check the return times before you go.
