SLAM DUNK Kamakura: Half Day on the Enoden

The crossing at opening light, the coast one station on, and the island at the end of the line.

This route runs the Enoden line from east to west, which is the order that works: the level crossing at Kamakurakokomae is calm early and unbearable by midday, so it goes first. From there the line runs along the sea to Shichirigahama, where the view actually opens up, and ends at Enoshima — the island you have been looking at from the train all morning. Lunch is deliberately placed back in central Kamakura at the end, because the coast has almost nowhere to eat.

    Sit on the sea side. On clear winter mornings Fuji appears behind Enoshima.
