Anime location
Hachiman Kamado Shrine
A shrine in Beppu with an old demon legend and a flight of 99 stone steps. Fan-designated, not official.
Hachiman Kamado Shrine carries a local legend about demons made to build a flight of a hundred stone steps in a single night, who left it one short. Combined with the "Kamado" in its name, fans connect it to Demon Slayer. As with the Dazaifu shrine, this is fan inference and not an official statement.
Why it is worth it
The demon legend here predates the series by a long way, which makes it more interesting rather than less.
When to go
Quiet. Beppu's visitors mostly come for the hot springs.
Good to know
Combine it with the Beppu hot springs and, if you are continuing, the Attack on Titan sites in Hita in the same prefecture.
Demon Slayer
Carries an old legend about demons and 99 stone steps, and shares the "Kamado" name. Fan-designated.
