Sanrio Harmonyland
Sanrio's outdoor park in Kyushu — rides, hillside views and far smaller crowds than Puroland.
Harmonyland is the outdoor counterpart to Puroland, built on a hillside near Beppu. It leans on rides and parades rather than indoor shows, and attendance is far lower, which makes character greetings much easier to get.
Why it is worth it
If you are already going to Beppu for the hot springs, this is a short trip away and far less crowded than the Tokyo park.
When to go
Rarely crowded. Being outdoors, it is weather-dependent.
Good to know
Check for irregular closures before travelling — the park does not open every day of the year.
