A shrine on the hillside above Hida-Furukawa, reached by a long stone approach through cedars. It is cited as one of the models for Miyamizu Shrine in the film — the shrine where Mitsuha and Yotsuha perform the ritual dance.
Why it is worth it
The Tokyo steps get all the visitors, but the countryside half of the film is where the story actually lives.

Quiet.
Good to know
It is an active local shrine. Bow at the torii, keep it brief and quiet. The approach is a genuine climb — allow 15 minutes each way from the town.
