The sniper, in the forecourt of Aso station, next to the roadside station.
The Usopp statue stands in the rotary in front of JR Aso Station, immediately next to Michi-no-Eki Aso. Aso station is the base for the volcano itself, so this is the statue most visitors will pass anyway.
Why it is worth it
It is right beside the roadside station and the bus stop for the crater, so it costs no detour at all.
When to go
Busy in the tourist season.
Good to know
Aso station is on the JR Hohi line, so this one is reachable without a car. The crater buses leave from here.
