Life-size Unicorn Gundam Statue
A 19.7-metre Gundam that transforms several times a day, and lights up after dark. Free.
The statue stands outside DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba and performs a transformation sequence between Unicorn and Destroy modes several times a day, with an additional lighting and projection show after dark. It is outdoors and free — no ticket, no queue, nothing to book.
Why it is worth it
It is free, it moves, and it is 19.7 metres tall. Very little in Tokyo delivers that for nothing.
When to go
A crowd gathers just before each performance and disperses after. Between times it is quiet.
Good to know
Check the performance times when you arrive and plan the Gundam Base store visit around one of them. The evening show is the better of the two.
